AC pressure test NOT informative diagnostic in E60/E61. The troubleshooting by pressure measurement described in the following is only possible on A/C systems with uncontrolled compressors. This includes among others: E53. E46M47 up to 09/2001.
Take the car to an independent shop. For around $100-150, they will evacuate the system and recharges with uv dye to check for leaks. It most likely just needs to be recharged, but by a professional. The dealer cost is about $250. The A/C system is too expensive and more with labor, to quick fix with a $20.00 can. M.
9,126. My Cars. SC E39 M5, E92 M3 DCT. i had hot air when the ac was on, only from the pass side. it turned out that on bmws thats a indication of the car being low on freon. i had the system vacuumed and refilled, now both sides are equal and blow cold. 09-14-2010, 09:15 PM #7.
E60 no heat **FIXED**. 2006 530i 173kmi. The car takes a very very long time to heat up and when it does, the heat is moderate to luke warm & maybe, jus maybe the heat reaches a good 80degrees sometimes.I had a water valve link code (9C79)that been coming up, so I changed the heater valve yesterday & the code ceased appearing on my purchased
It was a freon leak and it would blow cold on passenger side, moderate on the center vent and hot on the driver's side. Even with dual zone, its still one compressor so I'd check freon. It happened on our 2017 40e on RHS as well, but only when the engine was running and got put to normal running temperature.

I have spent some time looking for this information but have not been able to find a solution. I have a 2002 745i with about 150K miles. The A/C started acting funny several weeks ago, even though it is set on AC MAX it will blow hot air on one side and cold on the other: Passenger=HOT Driver=COLD or viceversa, depends on the cars mood. :dunno:
